Selling and Managing Domains

In WHMCS, you can configure your domain registration and pricing settings and choose a registrar to customize how you sell domains.

Domain Registrars

Domain registrar modules automate the process of registering and managing domains with supported registrars. WHMCS supports many popular registrars by default.

Lookup Providers

To allow your customers to search for domains, you must configure a lookup provider. Some lookup providers support namespinning.

Domain Statuses

Domain statuses indicate the domain's current state in the domain registration process. WHMCS's automation uses the domain status to determine when to generate invoices and perform other tasks.

Client Area Domain Registration

Customers use the Client Area's Register Domain page to view your domain extension pricing, Spotlight TLDs extensions, and term information.

ICANN Policies

ICANN sets the policies that govern domain registrations. If you sell or manage domains, you must follow their requirements for registration, renewals, transfers, and changes to contact information.

WHOIS Servers

WHOIS servers check domain availability and return related information. You must use the appropriate WHOIS servers to search for domains.
